Malcolm Rosas has produced arguably his best-ever performance for the Gold Coast Suns in Saturday's loss to Sydney.
Rosas finished with three goals and recorded seven score involvements in the Suns' 18.6 (114) to 13.12 (90) defeat to the Swans at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Interim Gold Coast coach Steven King believed that Rosas' performance was 'up there' with his best game at the club.
"The more we can get the ball in his hands the better we are," King told media during his post-match press conference.
"He hit the scoreboard today … He's got speed, he's got aggression and he applies pressure.
"Mally is still finding that belief himself, he is still discovering what he can do at this level – I don't think he actually knows what he can do yet, which is exciting."
King had high praise for Rosas' ball-handling ability and finishing skills.
"We have tried to get him around the ball a little more because he is so clean and he has got that class," he said.
"We saw him today finish his work – which was great – so he'll get great belief from that."
Rosas – who is one of six Territorians on the Suns' list – inked a new two-year deal last week which will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2025 season.
Suns' General Manager of Player Talent & Strategy Craig Cameron said the club was delighted to re-sign the speedy forward.
"Malcolm has started to make his mark at AFL level and we're excited to see that continue into the future at the Suns," Cameron said.
"He has worked hard for his opportunity in the AFL and is a role model for young players in the Northern Territory to follow in his footsteps."
The Darwin Buffaloes junior joined the club at the end of 2019 after being the first player to have signed via the Suns' Darwin Academy program.
After debuting in 2021, the 22-year-old has so far played 36 games and kicked 29 goals.
He has had a career-high for both games (17) and goals (15) in 2023.
