Fiji (10-112) defeated Indonesia (10-111) by 1 run
A bag of wickets from Indonesia's I Gede Teguh Pranatha Wiguna lead to Fiji being bowled out for a mediocre 112 inside 31 overs.
Wigunda took 5-17, the tournament's first five-wicket haul from 7.5 overs to see Indonesia's decision to send Fiji in pay off, with Marianus Molo (3-24 from 5 overs) also in the wickets.
Striking four boundaries and two sixes, Tukana Samuela Manakiwai (35 from 63) was Fiji's best with the bat, however the right hander struggled to find partners in the middle before being the final wicket to fall in the Fijian innings.
Sunia Tuiwai Yalimaiwai played a crucial role in Fiji defending the low score.
The right arm seamer took 5-13 from his 10 overs to see Indonesia bowled out a run shy of Fiji's score with 11 balls remaining.
Captain I Nyoman Adi Budana (25 fro 82) top scored for Indonesia.
Opener Marlon Verom (12 from 50) and Marianus Molo (10 form 23) were the only other Indonesian batters to reach double figures.
Papua New Guinea (9-257) defeated Samoa (10-153) by 104 runs
It was a one-sided affair at Cazalys Oval with Papua New Guinea easily acconting for Samoa.
Samoa paid the price for sending PGN in to bat, Dauncey Tom leading the way with 81 (71).
The middle order batter struck nine boundaries and two sixes in his better than a run-a-ball innings, partnering with Aluend Robson Boge (41 from 83) in an innings-high 96-run third wicket stand.
Following the dismissal of Boge and Tom, James Frank Momo (32 from 31) and Suvenia Sean Tau (29 from 41) picked up where they left off to see Indonesia reach 9-257 from their full 50 overs.
Captain Darren Roache (3-48 from 10) was Samoa's best with the ball.
In response, Samoa's innings struggled to gain momentum, falling to 5-46 inside 13 overs.
A sixth wicket 50-run stand between middle order batters So Joe Vailigi Rarotoga (31 from 60) and Maene Kilita Tuilaepa (27 from 40) gave Samoa some hope
However following their dismissal only Iefata Faafetai Tautiaga (39 from 38) made a notable contribution with the bat before being bowled out with more than 12 overs remaining.
Four PNG bowlers picked up multiple Samoan wickets, with seamer Anthony Tamarua David (3-21) the pick of the attack.
New Zealand (7-431) defeated Vanuatu (10-35) by 396 runs
New Zealand sent a message to the competition, dominating Vanuatu all facets of the match to win by a mammoth 396 runs.
Electing to bat, New Zealand posted an imposing 7-431 on the back of opener Tom Jones' 92 (81), Jones one of four New Zealand batters to surpass the half-century milestone.
They included Snehith Reddy (84 from 77), captain Oscar Jackson (53 from 41) and a quick fire 56 from Ollie Tewatiya off just 31 balls.
Opener Shay Narai (2-77) and Roderick Lekai (2-86) each took two wickets.
Following their dominant batting display New Zealand followed up strongly with the ball, bowling out Vanuatu for just 35 in 23 overs.
Vanuatu's wickets were shared by five New Zealand bowlers. Ryan Tsourgas lead the attack with 3-12 from 7 overs.
Raymondo Lekai (11 from 39) was the only Vanuatuan batter to reach double figures.
