Gold Coast forward Ben Long has inked an extension to remain at the club through to the end of 2029.

The former Saint produced a career-best season in 2025 in the Suns' rise up the ladder.

Long kicked 45 majors, at close to two a game, through the season, finishing equal sixth in the club's best-and-fairest count after a strong contribution to their maiden finals appearance.

He registered four goals in a match on three occasions.

Long also earned a spot in the All Australian squad.

A 56-point demolition job of 2025 grand finalists Geelong in opening round has only strengthened opinions the Suns have surged into their first premiership window.

Long hit the scoreboard with two goals in Friday night's contest.

Suns general manager said securing his signature was a "no brainer".

"Ben has two really important attributes - he's hard and unrelenting in his attack on the ball and the player with the ball, and he puts it through the big sticks," Cameron said.

"His teammates just love playing with him."

Long, 28, was originally recruited as a defender ahead of 2023 following six years at St Kilda.

"Ben is an important member of our squad. We've been pleased to see him thrive in SUNS colours and earn recognition both internally and across the league," Suns list manager Kall Burns said.

Long has played 136 AFL games since his debut in 2017.
