Six police officers and two doctors will be among the witnesses called at the trial of the four accused killers of Cassius Turvey.

Cassius was 15 years old when he was attacked walking home from school on 13 October, 2022, in Middle Swan, Perth. He died of his injuries days later.

On the first day of the trial on Monday, the four accused killers re-iterated that they plead not guilty.

The Crown indicated it would call six officers and two doctors to give evidence during the course of the trial, which is expected to take at least ten weeks.

The accused are Jack Steven James Brearley, 23, Brodie Lee Palmer, 29, Mitchell Colin Forth, 26, and Aleesha Louise Gilmore, 22.

The prosecution will allege the defendants were directly responsible for the fatal injury sustained by Cassius.

Several witnesses, including minors, will provide evidence during the trial, some remotely via video link, before Chief Justice Peter Quinlan.

More to come.
