Kurtley Beale has entered the Wallabies' 44-man summer camp on the Gold Coast ahead of a packed international fixture in 2023.
He comes into the four-day camp having last played in the green-and-gold in 2021, and ahead of what could be his fourth World Cup campaign in France later in the year.
Following a back-and-forth relationship with Super Rugby and stints overseas, most recently with French club Racing 92, Beale announced his return to the NSW Waratahs; where coach Darren Coleman is understood to have put his faith in the 34-year-old regaining his spot at fullback.
The Wallabies' first look at international competition in 2023 kicks off with a condensed Rugby Championship campaign starting July, playing a single test each against South Africa, Argentina and New Zealand for the trophy before a second Bledisloe Cup match against the All Blacks.
They will then head to France for a single warm-up contest before the World Cup begins in September.
Despite progressing to the twilight of his career Beale will hope to build on his 95 test caps since his debut with the Wallabies in 2009.
Of the 44 players attending the camp only two come without experience representing the national side. Wallabies coach Dave Rennie hailed the squad as an exciting display of depth, with fierce competition for a start in each game.
Beale's inclusion comes as one of just seven outside backs headed to the Gold Coast.
"We'll use the four days to make sure all players head back to their franchises with a clear understanding on what will give them the best chance of representing their country in a World Cup year," Rennie said.
