Clodagh Ryall has rewarded selectors after impressing in her maiden appearance for the Queensland Fire on Monday.

Ryall took a team best 3/27 from her eight overs to see the Fire bowl Victoria out for 247 in 48 overs.

The fifth bowler used by the Fire, Ryall's wickets included that of Sophie Reid (24 from 26) and Hasrat Gill (11 from 13).

Jawoyn allrounder Ella Hayward contributed a start to the Victorian cause, scoring 25 (39) before being dismissed by Ruby Strange (2/53).

Victoria's score was bolstered by contributions from opener Mia Perrin (64 from 65) and middle order batter Sasha Moloney (56 from 64).

In response Queensland cruised to victory with more than 11 overs remaining and six wickets in the sheds, largely due to contributions from Sianna Ginger and Mikayla Wrigley.

Ginger compiled an unbeaten 94 (84) while Wrigley chipped in with 47* (52).

After opening the bowling Haywood went wicketless in Victoria's unsuccessful defence, finishing with 0/40 (9).

Ryall, selected for the First after a successful KFC T20 Max campaign with Wynnum-Manly, was not needed with the bat.

Elsewhere on Monday, Emma Manix-Geeves managed 6 (6) with the bat and effected a stumping in Tasmaia's 10 run victory over South Australia.

Pre-season trial matches continue on Tuesday with New South Wales facing Tasmania.
