Callum Ah Chee's cruel run with injuries continues to intrude on his start to life at the Crows, with the duel premiership winner to miss more gametime with another soft tissue setback.
The 28-year-old didn't see out Adelaide's nailbiting win over Geelong on Thursday night after leaving the field with a hamstring injury suffered mid-way through the final quarter.
He's expected to spend up to a month on the sidelines, following scans.
Ah Chee has featured just four times in 2026 following his drawn-out high-profile move to South Australia after back-to-back flags at Brisbane.
A pre-season State of Origin-related hamstring scare didn't prove a major setback to his start of the season, however he missed two months of football with the same injury suffered against the Bulldogs in Round 2.
A thumb injury followed, before his latest blow.
Crows coach Matthew Nicks said, alongside a calf injury to Jordon Butts, it wasn't clear what to expect from Ah Chee's interruption.
The club provided an update early this week, with Ah Chee expected to will miss three to four weeks.
"Cal's scans show a low-grade hamstring injury that we will take our time with considering his history," high performance general manager Ian McKeown said.
Only last month, Ah Chee said he was looking forward to putting injury worries behind him as he eyed some consistency.
"It has been frustrating," Ah Chee told media in mid May.
"Obviously I wanted to come here and show what I'm capable of and it has been a little bit up and down with the hamstrings."
The Crows held on to a spot in the top eight after hanging on against a relentless Geelong side 11.9 (75) - 10.14 (74) on Thursday night.
Next come back-to-back matches with current top eight sides the Bulldogs and Melbourne before a blockbuster Showdown against struggling cross-city rivals Port in Round 16.
If the club's current fitness projections are correct, Ah Chee would return the following week to play West Coast in Perth or host the Gold Coast the following weekend.
After starting his career at the Gold Coast Suns, Ah Chee played 124 games with Brisbane before being traded to Adelaide last summer.
