A game-high seven wickets from Worimi fast bowler Brendan Doggett has lead South Australia to their first Sheffield Shield victory of the season, comfortably accounting for Tasmania at Hobart's Blundstone Arena.
Doggett (3-63), alongside pace counterparts Wes Agar (4-32) and Nathan McAndrew (2-67), tore through the Tasmania's top order for the second time in the match, dismissing the home side for just 208 to see the Redbacks claim a 208 run victory inside of three days.
In Tasmania's second innings a 65-run stand between opener Tim Ward (18) and Matthew Wade (42) saw the Tigers sitting comfortably at 1-70 before Doggett dismissed Wade, caught by ex-Tiger Ben Manenti at 2nd slip.
He then claimed the wicket of Ben McDermott (2) shortly afterwards, with wicketkeeper Harry Nielsen taking a regulation catch behind the stumps.
This left the Tigers reeling at 4-72, and although Jarrod Freeman (52) and Jake Doran (34) provided some resistance, the remaining Tasmanian batters were no match for the three-pronged South Australian pace attack of Agar, Doggett and McAndrew.
Doggett picked up his third wicket in the 43rd over of Tasmania's unsuccessful chase, bowling Doran to finish with innings figures of 3-63 from 16 overs.
The Tigers were in pursuit of 417 for victory after South Australia posted 236 in their second innings, with Daniel Drew top scoring with 92.
Earlier in the match, the Tigers were bundled out for 149 in reply to South Australia's first innings total of 329, with Jake Weatherald (100) and Nathan McSweeney (118) both posting centuries.
In Tasmania's first innings Doggett claimed the wickets of both openers, with Jake Lehmann produced a juggling effort at first slip to dismiss Caleb Jewell (21) before Doggett trapped Tim Ward (14) leg before wicket, leaving the Tigers in early trouble at 3-38.
The Tigers' middle order attempted to recover through Ben McDermott (17) and Jordan Silk (12), however Doggett struck for the third time in his spell, dismissing Silk who spooned a ball to Henry Hunt at mid-off.
Jake Doran (42) provided some resistance for the Tigers, however a steady flow of wickets saw the home side dismissed 180 runs short of South Australia's first innings total.
Doggett finishing the innings the pick of the South Australian bowlers, his 4-21 from 12.3 overs ending the Tigers first innings reply with the wicket of Jackson Bird (7).
Doggett's match figures of 7-84 from 28.3 overs including nine maidens are by far his best since returning to the South Australian line-up, having taken only four wickets across four innings in his previous three Sheffield Shield matches for the Redbacks.
