Six foreign nationals have been found near Kalumburu, a remote Aboriginal community on the northern tip of WA, after arriving in the country on an unknown vessel.
WA Police said an off-duty officer located two men about 12 kilometres north of Kalumburu on Monday.
"It was established the men had arrived in Australia via an unknown vessel, as part of a group," a police spokesperson said.
Police launched a search and found another four men in the Kalumburu area on Tuesday.
All six were taken to the Kalumburu Multi-Functional Police Facility for medical assessment.
The Australian Border Force is now handling the matter.
The National Indigenous Times contacted ABF for comment but has not received a response.
Kalumburu sits more than 3,000 kilometres north of Perth and can only be accessed by air or unsealed road for much of the year.
WA Police say inquiries are ongoing.
