Euro-Yroke's (St Kilda) first Indigenous AFLW player J'Noemi Anderson has ended her season in strong form, earning the season's final AFLW Rising Star nomination with an impressive display in defence.
The 19-year-old Warlpiri Warumungu woman stuck eight tackles to go with 11 disposals and two score involvements in the Saints' 27-point loss to defending premiers Brisbane at Moorabbin during Indigenous Round on Sunday.
A product of famed Darwin club St Mary's, Anderson arrived at the club, via the club's Victorian-based affiliate pathways, ahead of AFLW S7 in 2022.
She followed siblings Joe, Jed and Jasmine (an inaugural Adelaide AFLW player) in earning a spot at the top level.
Anderson took club legend Nicky Winmar's no.7 jumper, in recognition as the club's women's setup's first Indigenous player, playing five games in both her debut year and 2023 before appearing in 10 of the Saints' 11 games for 2024.
She remained eligible for Rising Star nomination having started the season with 10 senior games played, and under age maximum of 21 years.

Anderson averaged four tackles per game this season.
