The Northern Land Council has expressed disappointment over a snub from every NT government minister and department head it invited to its Full Council meeting in Borroloola.

The NLC invited NT Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro, and Ministers Gerard Maley, Steve Edgington, Jo Hersey, Joshua Burgoyne, and Robyn Cahill to attend and address the Full Council meeting "regarding issues and other matters related to the Land Council".

The invitation to NT Ministers was extended to relevant departments' chief executives. National Indigenous Times understands that only NT Police attended.

Opposition Leader Selena Uibo was also invited and was an apology for the meeting.

Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians Malarndirri McCarthy and federal Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour attended the full council.

Northern Land Council Chair Matthew Ryan said on Friday the Council was disappointed that no representatives from the Northern Territory Parliament attended the 129th Full Council meeting.

"Legislation passed this year including amendments to the Sacred Sites Act, the introduction of the Territory Coordinator, changes to the Aboriginal Water Rights Bill, cuts to housing, education and Aboriginal ranger groups are a direct attack on the rights of Countrymen across the Territory," he said.

"The absence of both sides of the Northern Territory Parliament from the Full Council meeting is telling, and paints a bleak picture for our constituents.

"We call on both sides of the Northern Territory government to show up and genuinely engage with Aboriginal Territorians so that we can work together in partnership towards a better and brighter future for all."

National Indigenous Times has contacted the Chief Minister and the Opposition Leader for comment.
