Northern Territory product Malcolm Rosas Jr has delivered the standout performance of his AFL career so far; a seven-goal masterclass to lead Sydney to victory over Melbourne at the SCG.
In a free-flowing contest, the Swans held off a late challenge from the Demons to secure a 19.17 (131) to 17.12 (114) victory.
The Rembarrnga and Ngalakan man proved the difference as Melbourne struggled to contain his speed and agility.
Rosas Jr was electric from the outset, kicking the opening goal before going on to boot five majors in a scintillating first half, becoming the first Sydney player since 2018 to kick five goals in a half.
His blistering six-minute stretch shortly after quarter time was a pivotal moment in the match.
The former Gold Coast Sun kicked his third goal early in the second term to hand Sydney back the lead, before adding two more in quick succession.
He continued to hit the scoreboard after the main break, adding his sixth midway through the final quarter as Melbourne surged, before calmly slotting his seventh minutes later to steady the Swans and help seal the result.
It was just the fifth time a Swans player has kicked seven goals in a match in the past decade.
Speaking after the game, Rosas Jr said everything seemed to fall into place.
"It was falling into my lap," he said.

"I was like, 'Oh, they can't really do nothing about it' - it's just one of them days, I think. I just take my opportunities, that's all you can do as a small forward.
"The way we play ... I feel like it suits my game."
Sydney coach Dean Cox praised the impact Rosas has made since arriving at the club during the off-season.
"The reason we got him here was to add something different to our forward line, and what he's delivered so far has been really beneficial for our football club," Cox said.
"As we always say, it's not about the goals, but he took his opportunities and provided some real flair in our front half - he does things other players can't do."
Recruited from the Gold Coast Suns in a low-cost trade involving late draft picks, Rosas Jr is proving to be one of the bargains of the off-season.
His performance came on a milestone day for teammate Brodie Grundy, who brought up his 250th AFL game in the win.
Meanwhile, Melbourne star Kysaiah Pickett continued his strong form, gathering 22 disposals, two goals and eight clearances in a standout individual effort.
Demons young gun Latrelle Pickett also produced some strong moments and finished with 13 disposals and a goal.
