First Nations digital creatives are being showcased through a new campaign on Instagram.
The hashtag #SeeTheIndigenousWorldThruMyEyes is a global campaign on Instagram which aims to shine a light on Indigenous culture and business through their smart glasses product Ray-Ban stories.
While this is a global campaign, in Australia the campaign features Birpi suffer Summer Simon, drag queen and LGBTQIA+ storyteller Felicia Foxx and Wiradjuri music producer Kuren (also known as Curtis Kennedy).
As part of the campaign, the three creators are sharing their stories and content on their Instagram platforms, captured by RayBan stories.
Simon said the campaign has allowed her to share the surf lessons she teaches and all aspects of her life.
"To be able to share my story through #SeeTheIndigenousWorldThruMyEyes you get to see mob from all around Australia, so we all come together and share our stories," she said.
"That's what I love about Instagram, you can connect with people all over Australia and the world."
The campaign is launched in partnership with First Nations consultancy Campfire x and EssilorLuxottica.
Kennedy said Instagram has made connecting with some of his favourite music icons more accessible and it's a way for him to connect her culture to others too.
"Music is almost like a language to me, it's through music, it's through sound, it's the best way for me to communicate my stories, my struggles and everything in between," he said.
"Instagram as a platform has allowed me to connect with some of my favourite artists that I've ever listened to.
"I've also been able to connect with people from different culture and industries, not only for myself but for all my people at the same time."
Alongside Australian First Nation creatives, Campfire x and Meta are working with the Alaska Federation of Natives, Native Women Lead and Norway House Cree Nation to share the work of other Indigenous creators around the world.
