The Yoorrook Justice Commission has urged all Victorians to make a submission to the historic truth-telling inquiry before the final deadline on November 22.

The commission recently published its 400th submission, with many more being processed, all of form part of a picture to help tell the "real" history of Australia.

The hearings have heard from Stolen Generation survivors, academics, legal experts, and people who have suffered as a result of colonialism, whilst a number of politicians and government officials have been questioned.

Deputy Chair of Yoorrook, Commissioner Sue-Anne Hunter said it was time for Victorians to tell their story as part of the truth-telling process.

"Every submission helps tell the true history of these lands and our shared history, and the unbroken line of injustice that began with colonisation and continues to this day," Commissioner Hunter said.

"We also want to hear stories about the diversity, strength and resistance of First Peoples and our cultures.

Both individuals and organisations can make submissions about past or ongoing injustice experienced by First Peoples.

They can also submit stories of diversity, strength, and resistance.

"All Victorians are encouraged to take part, and extensive support is available for First Peoples who put in a request before October 15," Commissioner Hunter said.

Submissions can be made in many ways – they can be written, audio recorded or filmed. They can include a piece of artwork, historical documents, and artefacts.

"Everyone has something to share. Don't miss out on the chance to play your part and help build a better future for all Victorians."

The submissions library can be found here and all submissions and requests for assistance can be made via the Yoorrook website.
