Similar to most working in the creative industry, Diamond Langi certainly does not shy away from taking up not one, but multiple career paths.

Constantly adding various titles to her name, the former Miss New Zealand can now add her participation at NZFW, Kahuria, to the list.

Currently living in Auckland, New Zealand, this year's NZFW will be the talented creatives first time walking the events runway.

"I am incredibly grateful to be experiencing my first NZFW", Langi said.

"Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to have the chance to walk fashion week in Paris, however, this particular occasion holds a personal significance for me as I have the privilege of walking the runway for fashion week in my beloved home country.

"What I truly appreciate about Aotearoa is its delightful cuisine, captivating music, rich culture, and breathtaking nature."

When it comes to juggling multiple careers, prioritising self-care and maintaining success, Langi seemingly manages it quite well.

The savvy stylist, model, actor and former Miss Universe New Zealand is driven by curiosity and creative passion.

Striving to always be doing and experiencing more, is what some may say, Langi does best.

"From a young age, my passion for performing arts and dressing up has always fuelled my curiosity to learn more," she said.

"I pursued my studies in Professional Styling at The Style Institute in Melbourne, Australia where I obtained my master's degrees. Later, I furthered my education in acting and successfully graduated from The Actors Program."

Whilst she does regularly enjoy expanding her workload and dipping her toe into different realms of work, Langi understands the reality of burnout and therefore prioritises self-care above anything else.

"Managing all these commitments can be quite demanding, so I rely on the tried-and-true method of writing everything down in my journal or on my vision board, ensuring I stay organised and focused on my goals," she said.

One thing Langi is extremely passionate about aside from her career, is her role in advocating for greater cultural representation and further supporting those that do.

"Within the realm of fashion here in Aotearoa, we are fortunate to witness the presence of remarkable individuals who possess unwavering determination, constantly pushing the boundaries of diversity and representation", Langi told Style Up.

"One such luminary is Nora Swann, the co-founder of the Pacific Fusion Fashion show, and a visionary fashion stylist. Nora consistently blazes a trail, providing unwavering support to models, talent, and designers within the Pacific and Māori communities.

"Additionally, we have the extraordinary fashion designer and creative director, Sammy Salsa, who fearlessly advocates for increased representation across the entire fashion industry.

"Their collective efforts contribute to a more inclusive and vibrant fashion landscape."

Whilst her next moves are anything but predictable, the local socialite is always on the go. The chances of catching Langi not engaging in one of her many passions are highly unlikely.

Although she does have many projects in the works, for the time being, Langi is thrilled to be walking the runway in her hometown, spending time with loved ones and supporting those designers whom she truly adores.
