Zig Zag are now recruiting for a highly skilled and experienced Sexual Assault Counselling and Support Worker – Brisbane North to join our Sexual Assault Program. This is a permanent position for 48 hours / fortnight and is remunerated at a SCHADS Award Level 5 with salary sacrifice available.

Position Details
The Sexual Assault Counselling and Support Worker – Brisbane North will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, ethical, responsive, specialist sexual assault counselling and support services to young women, trans, and gender diverse young people aged 12 – 25 years who have experienced sexual violence and are residing in the Brisbane North Region. This position will be primarily located at our Windsor service site and ensure flexible service delivery including counselling, planned support and support coordination, practical support and advocacy, information provision and warm referral; and mobile outreach services to maximise young people’s access to support. This position will also support the development and facilitation of sexual assault support groups, community engagement and community development, and early intervention and prevention activities.

Applicants must have:

Bachelor degree qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or relevant work experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the provision of specialist support to young people impacted by sexual violence, domestic and family violence, and/or homelessness.

A clearly defined practice framework that incorporates intersectional feminist and social justice perspectives.

Current ‘C’ class driver’s license.

Possession of a current Working with Children Blue Card.
