Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Project Officer (First Nations Health) to join Office of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Health.
The Senior Project Officer, First Nations Health works with the Deputy Dean and Assistant Dean, Indigenous Health to achieve the objectives of the First Nations Health Strategy for the Faculty. The position will be responsible for a range of project related activities in support of the Faculty’s First Nations Health Strategy, including First Nations initiatives for the School of Medicine’s establishment of a medical program.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, education, community engagement, or related fields, including the ability to work respectfully and effectively with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations.
- Experience supporting complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, including the ability to coordinate activities, monitor progress, prepare reports, and manage competing priorities within agreed timelines.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collegially with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed written communication skills including the ability to write effectively for a wide range of audiences.
- Proficient digital literacy skills including Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint and Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, show initiative and work productively both independently and in a small team.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
Desirable criteria:
Experience supporting accreditation, curriculum review, or quality assurance activities within higher education or health professional education.
Knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Queensland health systems, and/or health education pathways.
