We are seeking a passionate and experienced Aboriginal leader to drive disaster resilience and emergency preparedness initiatives that strengthen communities before, during and after emergency events.

You will work alongside Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), government agencies and key partners to support community-led planning, preparedness and recovery activities across Western NSW.

This identified Aboriginal position offers a unique opportunity to:

1. Build strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities and organisations.
2. Support Aboriginal-led emergency preparedness and recovery planning.
3. Lead projects that strengthen community resilience and self-determination.
4. Influence regional approaches to disaster preparedness and response.
5. Contribute to better outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities.

Funded through the NSW Ministry of Health Flood Recovery Program, this role provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working collaboratively with communities, the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC), Local Health Districts, emergency management agencies and government partners.
