Grace Abdy has written herself into Queensland's KFC T20 Max record books after taking the competition's best ever bowling figures.

Abdy took a remarkable 6/6 (3) in Valley District Cricket Club's resounding 84-run victory over the Ipswich Hornets on Tuesday.

The all-rounder, who grew up on a property outside of Cloncurry in north-west Queensland, starred for Valley under lights at Alan Pettigrew Oval.

Her three over spell of off-spin wrought havoc, the 20-year-old demolishing the Hornets' lineup to see them bowled out for 99 inside 19 overs.

Earlier in the match Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley struck 11 boundaries and a six to end unbeaten on 84 (63), setting up the comfortable victory for Valley.

Palawa wicketkeeper-batter Emma Manix-Geeves (5 from 6) and Jawoyn spin bowling all-rounder Ella Hayward (12* from 15 and 0/33) also featured in the match.

A former Townsville junior, Abdy has risen through the ranks of Queensland cricket in recent years having been an under-19 and Queensland Country Brolgas representative.

The Waanyi & Ganggalida woman won a National Indigenous Cricket Championships title with Queensland in 2023, and toured Papua New Guinea with the Australian Indigenous team alongside Valley teammate Christina Coulson earlier this year.

Her latest performance puts her name in front of Brisbane Heat selectors for this year's T20 Spring Challenge, which will be held in October ahead of this season's Women's Big Bash League.

The T20 Max competition sees interstate and overseas players link with Queensland Premier Cricket clubs for a three-week pre-season competition, providing players with quality T20 cricket opportunities and a chance for WBBL and BBL hopefuls to impress selectors.

Valley sit second on the KFC T20 Max - Women table with a 3-0 record.

Their next match is against the fifth placed Sunshine Coast on Wednesday evening.
