A century from Emma Manix-Geeves wasn't enough to secure victory for Tasmania in their Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) clash with New South Wales at the weekend.

The 25-year-old compiled her second century across all formats this season, 100 from 104 balls, in the Tigers' 44 run loss to hosts NSW at Sydney's Cricket Central on Sunday.

After NSW posted a healthy 10/274 from their 50 overs, Manix-Geeves was left to resurrect the visiting side's innings after Tasmania stumbled to 4/22 in reply.

In a patient knock the Riverside Cricket Club product steadied the Tigers ship, first partnering with Kathryn Bryce (42 from 49) in an 85-run fifth wicket stand, before adding an additional 62 alongside allrounder Courtney Sippel (28 from 43).

She struck 12 boundaries in her 41-over innings before becoming the 8th wicket to fall after succumbing to the bowling of former Tiger Sarah Coyte (1/44) in the 45th over.

Following Manix-Geeves' departure Tasmania was promptly bowled out for 230 inside 46 overs.

Seamer Maitlan Brown (4/30) was NSW's pick of the bowlers, with Katie Mack (99 from 103), adjudged Player of the Match.

Gumbaynggirr batter Anika Learoyd was also in the runs for NSW, scoring 46 (67) at No.4.

Two days later the Tigers were again beaten by NSW in similar fashion.

In a game dominated by Coyte, who scored 82* from 87 before taking 2/37, Tasmania fell 37 runs short of NSW's 8/246.

Both Manix-Geeves 7 (14) and Learoyd 4 (4) missed out with the bat in the repeat fixture.

Across all formats this season the Palawa wicketkeeper-batter has scored 1106 runs at a healthy average of 38.14.

Her season's best of 118 (121) came last month in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League 1st Grade competition, where she steered the Greater Northern Raiders to a 7 wicket victory over North Hobart.

Tasmania currently sit outside of WNCL finals contention with a 3-9 record.
