This month proud Pinikura women and mother & daughter founders of baby-wear brand Isla and Mimi, Betty Ramsay and Kira Trow, have launched their own collection of eco-friendly baby garments that celebrate their Indigenous heritage.
Offering a selection of comfortable and uniquely designed attire for girls aged between 0-3 years old, made with 100 per cent organic cotton and Global Organic Textile Standard-certified materials, the online collection titled 'Gingham Blooms' showcases the family's cultural background, all whilst incorporating designs inspired by Aboriginal campsite paintings.

Co-Founder and designer behind the Indigenous artwork Kira Trow said she was inspired to create baby clothing that was not only beautiful but sustainable and rich in cultural significance and value.
"Mum and I feel a strong sense of pride and responsibility to honour our heritage, so we wanted to create a collection that is playful and comfortable for little ones, with a strong meaning behind the designs," she said.
"In Aboriginal paintings, campsites hold a special place and are often painted as circles. They show where families and communities come together to live, share stories, and connect. Just as Indigenous people use art to share their journeys and stories, we want little ones to create their own memories in our dresses.
"We are so proud to be a brand that blends contemporary Indigenous art with sustainable, eco-friendly baby clothing and we want each garment to be a gesture of love, respect, and hope for the future."

Trow was further inspired to blend traditional patterns with Aboriginal art, incorporating a dainty gingham pattern into each of the pieces. The classic pattern merges with Trow's own individual design of Indigenous artwork to create a seamless fusion of cultures.
"Seeing our creations come to life has given me an overwhelming sense of pride and joy. It is a reminder of why we started this journey in the first place – to create something meaningful and beautiful that parents and children will love and a structured bow, adding a touch of elegance to your little one's wardrobe," she said.
