WA Police have charged a woman who was pushed to the ground by a police officer in the State's north, as video of the incident circulates online.

At 5:50pm on Tuesday, police responded to a disturbance at a residential address on Ellies Court, a cul-de-sac in Broome.

Police say that during the incident, a man became aggressive while officers were dealing with the matter and resisted police while being taken into custody, allegedly assaulting officers.

"A woman also allegedly interfered with police while they were performing their lawful duties, grabbing officers from behind. Additional officers attended the scene and pushed the woman away, causing her to fall to the ground," a police spokesperson said.

The 39-year-old man from Millars Well was charged with two counts of assaulting a public officer.

He appeared in Broome Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody, with his next appearance set for Friday.
