Teenager Jack Peris may receive an AFL lifeline with the Gold Coast Suns reportedly interested in signing the recently delisted St Kilda player.

Peris has spent the past two seasons on the Saints' list culminating in a solitary AFL game this year.

He was surprisingly not offered a contract with the Saints for 2024, despite showing impressive signs in the VFL over the past two seasons.

Upon his delisting, the Saints' acting General Manager of Football David Misson said that Peris was one of the 'popular members of our playing group'.

However, Peris may still receive another opportunity at the elite level with SEN's Tom Morris reporting that the Suns have interest in potentially recruiting the speedster to the club this off-season.

Gold Coast have a strong link to the Northern Territory, playing two home games at TIO Stadium each season.

The Suns also have by far the largest contingent of Territory players out of all the clubs.

Peris originally joined St Kilda as a Category B rookie via the Saints' Next Generation Academy.

As the son of Olympic athletes Nova Peris and Daniel Batman, unsurprisingly, Peris' elite athleticism is a key feature of his game and his elite pressure on the opposition ball carrier could be of interest for incoming Suns coach Damien Hardwick.

The 19-year-old played 30 VFL games over the past two seasons with St Kilda's affiliated club Sandringham.

This year he averaged 14 disposals from 16 games, with his best performance a 20-disposal two-goal effort against Northern Bullants late in the season.

Peris showed promising signs in his one and only AFL game against Gold Coast, registering 13 disposals and a couple of chase down tackles.
