Videos have emerged on social media showing a young Aboriginal woman in distress pinned to the ground by police in the northern WA town of Karratha.

At the beginning of one video the young woman is dragged from a silver 4WD vehicle and appears limp on a driveway with two officers holding her down.

Witnesses call out that the woman in injured ask the officers to let her go. An officer responds that the woman is under arrest.

"You knocked her out!" one woman calls out.

An officer briefly aims a pepper spray at people as the woman is taken to the police wagon.

"You've got three people on her! … Who the hell do you think you are? You're supposed to be protecting people… You have no right to do that," one young woman calls out to police.

Another video shows the young woman said to be under arrest pinned to the ground in distress and in tears.

The woman held by police cries out for help as two officers put her in the rear of the wagon.

The videos were shared on Facebook with the title "KARRATHA POLICE??".

A spokesperson for WA Police told National Indigenous Times that about 10:30am on Monday 2 June, police were called to a residence in Millars Well after an alleged physical altercation between people known to each other.

"A 25-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly breaching her bail conditions by being at the residence. It will be alleged as the woman was being arrested, she obstructed police, locking herself in a vehicle," they said.

"The woman was not injured during the arrest and no medical assistance was required."

The Police spokesperson said the woman was charged with "Obstructing Public Officers Common Assault in Circumstances of Aggravation or Racial Aggravation" and will appear before the Karratha Magistrates Court on 29 July.
