Ghost stories from Indigenous Australia will feature in a new documentary series on NITV.
The four-part series Shadow Trackers premieres on October 27.
Actors Hunter Page-Lochard (Cleverman) and Zac James go on a journey to discover the traditional scary spirit stories that have been passed down through the generations.
Some of the stories have never been told outside their communities before.
Page-Lochard and James talk to elders and community storytellers in their quest to discover the truth behind some of the legends.
They learn about creatures and places such as the Il-Bogan, a bunyip-like creature that moves through underground tunnels in the lands of the Mununjali clan; the Muldjewangk, a water-creature lurking in the Murray River; The Devil Highway, a treacherous passage that taunts the Bunuba people; and the Poinciana Woman, who seeks revenge for her pain and suffering in the lands of the Larrakia Nation.
Episode one, at 8.30pm AEST on October 27, sees the boys head to Beaudesert on Mununjali land in Queensland to investigate the Il-Bogan. They talk to Page family members in the region, Uncle Bevan Page, his sister Aunty Levina Page and other local elders.
