About the role
Permanent full time opportunity to deliver culturally appropriate psychology, social work or occupational therapy services as a member of a multidisciplinary team to consumers, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, experiencing a moderate to severe substance use disorder and/or complicated by other mental health concerns to optimise social and emotional wellbeing and psychosocial outcomes and achieve maximum benefit from hospital and health care services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

Use a combination of clinical skills and cultural knowledge to inform assessment and treatment including:

Mental health and alcohol and drug assessments (including risk assessments).

Comprehensive social and emotional wellbeing model formulations and care planning. Supporting the team to implement same where appropriate.

Provide allied health advice and cultural consultation to the multidisciplinary team, operational supervisors, and key stakeholders regarding professional standards and clinical service development.

Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups, and government and non-government health and support services in the Redcliffe and Caboolture areas. Provide alcohol and drug consultation into care planning for people accessing alcohol and drug and mental health services.
