Fitter - Barwon Asset Solutions
If you're a Fitter who enjoys hands-on work, fault finding and tackling a different challenge each day, you'll feel right at home in this role. From pumps and valves to critical water and wastewater assets, you'll use your trade skills to keep essential infrastructure operating reliably for the communities we serve.
About the Role
You'll bring your trade expertise and practical problem-solving skills to a role where you'll be trusted to make sound decisions, plan and coordinate work, and contribute to the reliable operation of critical water infrastructure. Using digital work management and field data systems, you'll play an important role in maintaining essential community services while working both independently and alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team.
This is a hands-on role that offers variety and challenge, with opportunities to apply your technical knowledge across treatment plants, pump stations and operational sites. You'll draw on your experience to diagnose faults, identify improvement opportunities and deliver high-quality maintenance, repair and installation outcomes on a broad range of mechanical assets.
You'll play a key role in keeping essential water and wastewater services running for our region, applying your trade expertise to infrastructure that supports thousands of homes, businesses and communities every day.
About You
You're a qualified Fitter with a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade). You take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy solving practical problems and are committed to working safely every day. Whether you're an experienced tradesperson or looking to further develop your skills, you'll bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Experience within utilities, manufacturing or other asset-intensive environments will be highly regarded, as will additional licences and certifications. If you don't currently hold these, we'll support your development through training and upskilling opportunities.
As Barwon Asset Solutions provides essential services to the community 24/7, you'll be willing to participate in a rostered standby arrangement and respond to operational requirements when needed. You'll also hold a current Victorian Driver Licence and White Card or be willing to obtain one. The successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and National Police Check.
