About the role We are currently seeking a Senior Data and Research Analyst to join us in the Productivity Commission’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Stream. As a member of our dedicated Reporting team, your work will contribute to progressing matters of importance that inform policy and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This includes reporting on governments’ progress towards their commitments under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and, developing and maintaining the Closing the Gap Information Repository. About you Your ability to undertake research and data analysis specific to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Stream, will be a key strength. You have strong conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrated experience working with data, preparing quality research papers, case studies and technical specifications. Essentially, you demonstrate and are committed to building meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as a working knowledge of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Indigenous Data Governance. You also have knowledge of and understand First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives. An academic qualification in an area such as public policy, social policy, economics, law, statistics and data analysis, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies is desirable.
