The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.
We currently have an opportunity for a Conservation Employee - Supervisor or Crew Leader - Yamatji Nation to join our team.
Under the direction of the Senior Works Coordinator, this position:

Supervises and leads Yamatji Nation Aboriginal Rangers, Conservation Employees and contractors in a range of activities related to the department’s works programs including asset maintenance, fire management, conservation, parks and visitor services (PVS) and joint management including remote and overnight work.

Provides specialist construction advice, quality control/assurance, planning to implement construction and maintenance works in the Murchison District/Midwest Region.

Develops, plans, organises, and implements on ground conservation and PVS projects throughout the Murchison District.

Undertakes an active role in incident and fire management activities.

Supports identification of training needs for employees to ensure safe and effective works.
