Magnitude 6.6 quake strikes Wewak, Papua New Guinea

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake has struck Wewak, Papua New Guinea, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) says.

The quake on Tuesday was at a depth of 44km.

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology said there was no tsunami threat to Australia from the quake.
