The City of Sydney is supporting two events to celebrate Indigenous Business Month.
A special breakfast will be held on October 25 at Customs House in Circular Quay and a workshop will be held on October 27 at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern.
The Indigenous Business Month Breakfast, with a theme of ‘Celebrating Leadership’ is set to bring together people from a mix of sectors, including government, business and not-for-profit.
The Procurement Support Workshop will be a two-hour, hands-on workshop that will allow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business owners to learn more about government procurement and to share success stories.
The City of Sydney received Procurement Australia’s Social Procurement Award in 2015, recognising its contribution to furthering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander procurement.
From 2012, there has been a 137 percent increase in procurement contracts with Ab original business, including a 208 percent increase in the number of suppliers.
